I don't like to double up on information provided in the TASA newsletter but there is an interesting upcoming webinar that I wanted to re-share. The Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission is running a webinar on 21 July, 2-3pm on 20 years of the Charter: ensuring our human rights laws are fit for modern-day Victoria.
Researcher Spotlight: TG Member Dr Marsela Valzquez
Dr. Marsela Velazquez, Independent Sociologist and Adjunct Lecturer at California State University-Dominguez Hills, is leading a book-length project, Resilience among Latinx Families with an Incarcerated Loved One. Her qualitative work is examining how families with an incarcerated loved one actively cultivate resilience through kinship networks, caregiving practices, and cultural values within the context of Latinx-specific legal, linguistic, and immigration constraints.

Since last week was NADIOC week, I'd thought I'd share the recent position paper from Dr Summer Finaly, Dr Bobby Maher and Dr Anna Temby from Lowitja Institute, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander evaluations informing policy and practice: What do we know and where do we need to go.
The Centre for Social Impact have also recently published the second edition of the Roadmap to Measure Social Impact | Centre for Social Impact | CSI.
Here is a recording of Natasha Mauthner, Professor of Social Science Philosophy and Method at Newcastle University workshop Philosophical issues in open qualitative research. Prof Mauthner talks about her work critically examining the philosophical issues in open qualitative research, including how the open research movement can evolve to better reflect and support the complexity and pluralism of qualitative research.
